Notes
THE PARIS MORNING NEWS, Saturday, June 15, 1918, p. 3: "There was a double funeral at Emberson yesterday afternoon. The News chronicled that the six year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Dodson died Thursday of whooping cough, and yesterday morning at 1 o'clock the two-months infant of M. M. Barnes and wife died. There was a single funeral service for both of them, the caskets being carried in the same hearse at the same time to the Presbyterian church. The service was conducted by Rev. N. C. Walters, a Baptist minister of Powderly. The burial was at Prairie Ridge cemetery."
