THE HOUSTON POST, Tuesday, February 18, 1907, p. 4: "(Houston Post Special). Aged Couple Dead Paris Texas. Paris, Texas, Feb. 18 -- William Tomlinson and wife, an aged couple, moved overland from Bowie to Lamar county during the recent cold weather and both contracted pneumonia. The husband died Saturday and at the wife's request the funeral was held yesterday in the room which she lay ill. A few hours later the wife died." Submitted by Tina Vickery.
BONHAM DAILY FAVORITE, Wednesday, February 19, 1907: "COUPLE UNITED IN DEATH. Aged Residents of Caviness Stricken with Pneumonia Die. Paris, Tex., Feb. 18 -- Mr. and Mrs. Thomas [Tomlinson], who recently moved to this county from Bowie County died at their home a mile northeast of Caviness, forty-eight hours apart of pneumonia, one of them dying Saturday and the other yesterday. A grown son collapsed and fainted from grief when his father died and did not regain consciousness until a few hours before his mother's death." Submitted by Suzy Henderson.
