THE PARIS NEWS, Nov. 25, 2009: “Jerry Taylor, 59, of McKinney, formerly of Paris, passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at Presbyterian Hospital in Allen. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at First Christian Church, 780 20th N. E. Street, Paris, TX, with Father Terry Germann and Rev. Charlotte Coyle officiating. Burial follows in Evergreen Cemetery. The family receives friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Saturday, at the church. He was the son of Ernest C. and Mary Frances Nelson Taylor, and was born Sept. 13, 1950, in Paris. He graduated from Paris High School in 1968 and from East Texas State University in 1972, where he was active in the Phi Kappa Theta fraternity. He retired as a Publishing Services Specialist with the Internal Revenue Service in Jan. of 2009, after 35-years of service. He was an avid coin and currency collector and a loyal fan of the University of Texas Longhorns. He was a member of First Christian Church in Paris. He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister, Mary Joyce Taylor. Survivors include his wife, Iryna, whom he married Oct. 24, 2003; his beloved pet, Mica, Jr.; his mother-in-law, Vera Ivanova and husband, Nick, of Ukraine; two sisters, Karen Gossett and husband, Marvin, of Fort Worth and Janet Holsaeter and husband, Matti, of Edmond, Okla.; nieces and nephews, Melanie Barrett and husband, James, Thomas Holsaeter, Katrina Holsaeter, Andrew Holsaeter, Jeffrey Gossett and Amanda Gossett. Casket bearers will be Bob Sonntag, Miles Shields, Sam Gafford, Clark Reed, Thomas Holsaeter and Jack Stell.
