THE PARIS NEWS, Nov. 11, 2009: “IDABEL, Okla., J W. Tapley, 78, of the Pollard Community passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at his home. Services are set for 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at the Haworth Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Anderson officiating. Interment follows in the Denison Cemetery. The family receives friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at the funeral home. He was born April 18, 1931, at Pauls Valley, Okla., the son of Worth and Mary Stella Hunt Tapley. He married Jean Hendrix of the Pollard Community. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he entered the service in 1953. He spent his life working construction and was the owner of T.H.E. Construction Company in Anchorage, Alaska. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Walter Tapley, Edmond Tapley, Olin Tapley, Troy Tapley; sisters, Ruby Fore, Wilma Davis, Buel Walden, Opal Kimsey and Ruth Tapley. He is survived by his wife, Jean of the Pollard Community; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Joanie Tapley of Valliant, Jim and Chris Tapley of Kenai, AK, Tommy and Karen Tapley of Pollard; daughter and son-in-law, Toni and Kenneth Hall of Fort Towson; brother and sister-in-law, Henry and June Tapley of Paris; grandchildren, Joe Dan and wife, Mandy Tapley, Jahni Tapley, Jennifer Tapley, Josh and wife, Whitney Tapley, Jesse and wife, Jeanette Tapley, Amy Tapley, Haley Tapley, William Ingles, Heath and wife, Tiffany Tapley, Amy Hall, Kent Hall; 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
