THE PARIS NEWS, Oct. 22, 2009: “Margaret Biggers, 86, of Paris passed away Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home is to conduct graveside services at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Meadowbrook Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Steve Cook officiating. The family receives friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. She was born March 12, 1923, in Paris a daughter of Doyle and Thelma Miller Keesling. She married Marcus G. Biggers in DeRidder, La., Jan. 10, 1943. He died in 1975 while he was an engineer with the Paris Fire Department. She held various positions during her working years including secretary for the Sheriff’s Department and Justice of the Peace office, Dr. Don Haslem, worked at Ayers Dept. Store in sales and was an accomplished artist. She had resided in her residence on Washington Street for more than 50 years. She was an active member of Oak Park Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus; and a sister, Drew Nell McAbee. Survivors include a son, Ron Biggers of Chattanooga, Tenn.; grandchildren, Stephanie and husband, Rev. John Davis, Melissa and Rev. Greg Locke, Melanie and husband, Lee Ollanketo, Miriam and husband, Ben Morrow; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Robert M. McAbee.
