THE YUMA DAILY SUN, Yuma, AZ, Wed., July 1, 1953: "Two Killed, Seven Hurt in Car Crash - BY UNITED PRESS - Two persons were killed and seven injured in a four-car accident last weekend near Gilbert. Killed were James Beacham, 32, Paris, Tex., And Thomas Fields, 30, Dallas, Tex., both Gilbert farm laborers. Hubert Harmon, Maricopa county deputy sheriff, said an abandoned car without lights was found on the highway and was believed a factor in the fatal accident. The car was reportedly owned by two Williams Air Force Base airmen. Reported seriously injured were Irwin Neal, 19, Gilbert, and Anna May Dunn, Phoenix. Five others were released from Mesa Southside District Hospital after emergency treatment. An inquest was to be held today by Gilbert Coroner Harold Germaine."

THE PARIS NEWS, Monday, July 13, 1953, p. 10: "Beacham Services - Funeral searvices were set for Monday at 2:30 p.m. At the Church of God in Christ No. 1 for James Beacham, 32, Of Paris, who was killed in an automobile accident two weeks ago at Mesa, Ariz."
