THE PARIS NEWS, Apr. 08, 2009: “Melba Nadine Baxter, 82, of Paris passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009, in Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 10, in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Steward officiating. Interment follows in Ladonia Cemetery. Family receives friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. She was born Feb. 4, 1927, in Windom, a daughter of Robert Ernest and Beulah Gilbert Lilly. She was a cafeteria worker and was a member of the Maxey Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Gladys Roden and two brothers, James Lilly and H. L. Lilly. She is survived by her children, Rita Kay Story and husband, Lonnie, of Paris, Phyllis Robison and husband, Roy, of Bonham, Vernon Roberts and wife, Mary J., of Sumner; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Scarborough of Dumas.
