| Notes THE PARIS NEWS, Mar. 29, 2009: “BOGATA, Tom Buchanan, 73, of Bogata died at his home Saturday, March 28, 2009. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Monday, March 30, in the Bogata Church of God with Ethel Elrod and Don Brooks officiating. Burial follows in Midway Cemetery. The family receives friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. He was born in Franklin County, July 17, 1935, the son of George Gurdy and Eliza Perline Kelley Buchanan. He was retired from Red River Army Depot as a truck driver. He married Helen Williams on Jan. 28, 1969, in Hugo, Okla. He is survived by his wife, Helen Williams; children, Kelly Whitecotten and husband, Sonny, of Locksburg, Ark., John T. Buchanan, II and wife, Kris, of Rowlatte, Morris Wayne Hill of New Boston, Lisa Kay Kornell and husband, Bart, of Bogata; 11 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren; special friends, Top Elrod, Rob Cannon, Les Burleson and Donnie Whitecotten. Serving as pallbearers will be W. H. Elrod, Arley Elrod, Mike Burleson, Carl Hoper, Chad Whitecotten and Wade Cannon.” |
