THE PARIS NEWS, Mar. 26, 2009: “Robert Brownfield, 60, of Paris, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009, in a Dallas hospital. Funeral services are set for 11.m. Saturday, March 28, in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home with the Rev. Morris Cook, the Rev. Richard Mayberry, and members of the Paris Elks lodge officiating. Graveside rites are held at 2 p.m. in the Carson Cemetery in Ector. The family receives friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. He was born on Oct.3, 1948, in Whitewright, a son of T. J. and Doris Barron Brownfield. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Paris, having held several office positions and was a past Exalted Ruler. For many years he cooked at the lodge. He was employed by Campbell Soup, from whence he retired after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert Lee Brownfield, Deley Jane Brownfield, William Franklin Barron and Gertrude Williams. He was a great husband, father and grandfather, and is survived by his wife of 18 years, Patsy Brownfield of Paris. Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Brownfield of Ector; his sons, Wayne Brownfield and his wife, Sharri, of Sumner, Byron Long and his wife, Sherry, of Paris, and Jerry Long of Paris; his daughters, Tammy Daniels and husband, Rodney, of Powderly, Robin Malone and husband, Craig, of Reno; five grandsons, Jaythan Brownfield, Dylan Long, Justin Rosson, Chance Johnson, and Aaron McMikel; five granddaughters, Emily Brownfield, Angelika Summers, Jacqueline Summers, Kayla Daniels and Misty Daniels; one great-grandson Malachi McCool; three brothers, Bobby Brownfield and wife, Sara, of Ector, Dennis Brownfield and wife, Cathy, of Telephone, and Mark Brownfield and wife, Denise, of Denison; two sisters, Kay Williams and husband, Chuck, of Whitewright and Mary Rogers and husband, Kyle, of Whitewright. Pallbearers will be members of the Elks Lodge. Named as honorary pallbearers are ‘Gramp’s little outlaws,’ Jaythan Brownfield, Justin Rosson, Aaron McMikel, Chance Johnson and Dylan Long.
