She married John David ‘Shorty’ Ball on Dec. 13, 1950, in Paris. He preceded her in death on Christmas Eve, 2001. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters. Survivors include three children, Paul I. ‘Butch’ Yates and wife, Shirley, of Detroit, Ruth Ann Jones and husband, Roy, of Minter, and Col. John Ball (Ret.) and wife, Wyn, of San Antonio; six grandchildren, Joanna Pitcock of Deport, David Yates of Dublin, Calif., Mark Keys of Paris, John Paul Yates of Springfield, Ga., Jessie Meredith of Spring and Karla Ball of San Antonio; six great-grandchildren, Mitchell Pitcock, Jacey Pitcock, Kaitlyn Yates, Kolton Yates, Sarah Yates and Gaby Keys; one great-great-grandchild, Gage Pitcock; a sister-in-law, Bobbie Ruth Hulsey, of Reno; and several nieces and nephews.
