THE PARIS NEWS, July 14, 2008: "HONEY GROVE, Vonna Beth Ceylon Tyler, of the Selfs community passed away Sunday, July 13, 2008, at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman, with her husband of 42 years at her side. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Honey Grove with Pastor Joe McWilliam officiating. Burial takes place after services at Allens Point Cemetery in Allens Point. The family receives friends one hour prior to funeral services between 10 and 11 a.m. at the funeral home. She was born June 5, 1938, in Marietta, to Elmer Wilson Wright and Lilian Lee Capps Wright. She and James Oliver Tyler were married Sept. 4, 1965, in Kingsville. She was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Paris, for many years. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, James O. Tyler of Selfs; son and daughter-in-law; Monty and Pam Tyler of San Antonio; and, her grandson, James Carl Tyler and his wife, Susan, of Fayetteville, Ark. She has two brothers, Arvin Lee Wright of Palm Springs, Calif., and Lester Doyle Wright and his wife, Lynette, of Jefferson. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws, Sharon Wright of Avenger, and Marie Frances Azwell of St. Petersburg, Fla.; brothers-in-law and wives, Ray and Bertha Tyler of Selfs and Wayne and Marty Tyler of Huffman; aunt and uncle, Earl and Peggy Capps of Conroe, and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Alan 'Rocky' Ford, James Carl Tyler, David Simmons, David Miller, Tommy Mead, Bob Tyler, Corey Wright and Nathan DeLeon. If desired, in lieu of flowers, Ceylon requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice."
