THE PARIS NEWS, Nov. 30, 2008: “Max R. Taylor, 79, of Paris went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 28, 2008. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 pm on Monday, December 1st at Bright and Holland Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for 2 pm Tuesday, December 2nd at the funeral home with the Rev. Jimmy Anderson officiating and Kenneth Wolfe assisting. Graveside services are to follow in Evergreen Cemetery with Bro. Brad Crosswhite officiating. Pallbearers will be Cory Lehtinen, Don B. Taylor, Jr., Jacob McCoy, Craig McCoy, Scott Patrick, and Ronnie Taylor. He was born January 21, 1929 in Shelby County, Texas to Cecil R. and Sally Coyle Taylor. His first career was in the metal can business with Thompson Can Company in Farmers Branch, Texas. He retired with over 20 years of service as the Executive Vice-President and Co-Owner. In retirement he had a second career in ranching after purchasing property north of Honey Grove, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Gertrude Peddy of 47 years, his sisters R. V. Crutchfield and Duetta Nichols. Survivors include daughters Rhonda Williams and husband Jim, and Debi Bolyard and husband Glenn of Paris, and sons Don Taylor and wife Pat of Paris, and Ronald Taylor of Tyler. One brother Rex Taylor of Carthage, and Sara Shaver of Michigan. Six grandchildren Kriss McCoy and husband Craig of Honey Grove, Carrie Patrick and husband Scott of Allen, Cory Lehtinen and wife Stacy of Princeton, Don B. Taylor, Jr. Paris, Amber Taylor and Alex Taylor of Tyler. Four step-grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews and a very special friend Dollie Templeton of Hopewell. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
