THE PARIS NEWS, Sept. 21, 2007: "The Rev. R. C. Bell, 73, passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Calvary United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ossie Coleman, eulogist. He was born June 14, 1934, in Red River County, to the late Willie D. Nunley and Bames Bell. He married Virginia Faye Rosser on Aug. 22, 1962. He attended Cheathem High School and later entered the military and served for ten years. He dedicated his life to God at an early age and attended Saint James Baptist Church. He became a preacher later on in life, pastoring several churches. He was the pastor of Mount Canaan Baptist Church for 18 faithful years until his death. He worked many years at the highway department, where he retired. He had too many other accomplishments to be listed. He was loved by everyone. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Thad Lewis Bell, Hobbie D. Bell and John Scott Bell. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Virginia Faye Rosser Bell of Paris; sons, Derrick Robert Bell of California, Cornelius A. Bell of Fort Worth and Mik el D. Bell of Dallas; daughters, Stephanie D. Bell and husband, Leatheal, Audra D. Bell and husband, Gary, and Cheryl Y. Bell and husband, Marcus, all of Dallas; grandchildren, Kenyon Bell, Jarell Bell, Jeremy Bell, Kourtnee Hansbrough, Brandon Harmon, Valencia Bell, Jazzarion Bell, Sitaya Moore, Aryiana Wilson, Mikel Bell Jr., Cornelius Bell Jr., Jamorion Wilson, LaDarius Bell, Anthony Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Chantal Harris, Yasmine Lewis, Demarlynn Bell, Micah Bell and Marquis Watts; 12 great-grandchildren; one half-brother, James Howard Bell of Clarksville; uncle, Charles Bell and wife, Mary, of Wichita, Kan.; special nephew and friend, Ethel Rhea and Hommie Bell; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends."
