THE PARIS NEWS, Sept. 18, 2007: "Lanis Frank 'Pap' Isom, 70, loving son, father, grandfather, and mentor, passed away peacefully at his home in Lewisville, with his loved ones by his side on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, after a two year battle with cancer. Graveside services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Meadowbrook Gardens Cemetery in Paris. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements. He was born Nov. 25, 1936, in Reno, to Frank and Marcella Isom. He served four years in the United States Navy and was a graduate of the University of Texas-Arlington. He married Joyce Wilson on July 7, 1961. He was preceded in death by is father, Frank Isom, in 1986. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Isom; a son and grandson, Randy and Ian Isom; a daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons, Darla, Kyle, Aaron, Dylan and Jordan McCain; his mother, Marcella Isom; his brother and wife, Gerald and Lucille Isom; a niece and family, Jana, Marco and Jordan DeLeon; a niece and family; Jennifer, Mathew, Kaitlyn, and Quinn O'Malley; and long-time companion, Sue Bessonette.
