THE PARIS NEWS, Sept. 13, 2007: "Charles Elbert Brunson, 71, of Chicota passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Ben Franklin United Methodist Church with the Rev. George Flowers officiating. Burial follows in Garden of Memories at Ben Franklin. The family receives friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Brunson, the son of Emmitt Earl and Lovia Gideon Brunson, was born Dec. 13, 1935, in Delta County. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and was a retired beekeeper. He married Norma June Logan on July 3, 1954. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Russell Brunson and Richard Lee Brunson and sisters, Veneta Burrow and Edna Earl Brunson. Survivors include his wife, June; a son, Terry Brunson of Paris; daughters, Charlotte Wicks and husband, Randy, of Kensing, Sherry Holley and husband, David, of San Antonio, Lisa Reel and husband, Carl, of Cooper and Toni Johnson and husband, Wendell, of Franklin; a child he considered his own, Mike Owens and wife, Martha, of Milford; one brother, Royce Brunson and wife, Joyce, of Paris, 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
