THE PARIS NEWS, Aug. 09, 2007: "CLARKSVILLE, Leslie Ray Bishop, 79, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, in Christus St. Michaels Hospital in Texarkana. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with the Rev. Dudley Childs, the Rev. James Brown and the Rev. Bob Posey officiating. Burial follows in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family receives friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. He was born Nov. 25, 1927, in the Boxelder community, the son of Harvey Thomas and Vela Ossie Wallace Bishop. Brother Andy Hornbaker led him to Christ in 1959, since then he has had Christ with him all the way. He was a member of College Avenue Baptist Church since 1957. He was a member of the Wildey Lodge No. 21 IOOF. He also was a master woodsmith and loving father and grandfather. He loved to fish and play dominoes and 42 with his friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mona Ruth Bishop in 1999; a son, Leslie Michael Bishop; and two sisters, Juanel Pool and Letha Hawks. Survivors include his two daughters, Pamala Ann King and husband, Bill, of Texarkana and Lorie Ruth Clements and husband, Bill, of Texarkana; three grandsons, Michael Aaron King, Daniel Lyle Duncan and William Leslie King; step-mother, Lula Bishop of Clarksville; two brothers, Ken Bishop and wife, Wini, of Clarksville and James 'Fuzz' Bishop and wife, Nell, of Clarksville; three sisters, Juanita Beaty of Lamesa, Marye Ellen Young of Clarksville and Johnnie Alice Tyler of Longview; several nieces and nephews and friends; and a beloved dog, Charlie. Pallbearers are Steve, Victor, and Justin Bishop, Deuce Young, Shawn Bishop and Jason Tyler. Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Wildey Lodge No. 21 IOOF. If desired, the family has asked for memorials to be sent to College Avenue Baptist Church, 906 S. Donoho St., Clarksville, TX 75426."
