THE PARIS NEWS, Apr. 20, 2007: "Novella McDowra Teems, 97, of Deer Park, passed into the hands of the Lord Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at her home. A graveside service is scheduled to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at Meadowbrook Gardens Cemetery with Patrick Cannon officiating. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements. The family receives friends from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday prior to the service. She was born Nov. 7, 1909, in Paris, to Robert Lee and Nancy Ladell Della McDowra. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Arthur Teems and an infant son, Glen Morgan Teems. She is survived by her four children, Freda N. Hughes of Deer Park, Doris J. Petty and husband, of Lovington, N.M., James F. Teems and wife, Fern, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Kathi J. Humphreys of Deer Park; nine grandchildren, Arthur G. Hughes of Boise, Idaho, Gary Q. Petty of Lovington, Jeffery W. Petty of Lovington, James M. Petty and wife, Tori, of Lovington, Patrick V. Teems of San Antonio, Jamie N. Lewis of Albuquerque, Timothy J. Teems of Albuquerque, Jason S. DeVore of Deer Park, and Sarah K. Araiza and husband, Richard, of Pasadena; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
