THE PARIS NEWS, Feb. 11, 2008: “Daisy Elizabeth Wilson Barnett, 102, of Paris died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at Legend Healthcare Center, at which time Bright-Holland Funeral Home received her into their care. Graveside services are set for 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Union Grove Cemetery with Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. The family receives friends from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. She was born in Paris, March 2, 1905, to James N. and Alice Mae Wilson. She was a homemaker and member of East Paris Baptist Church. She married William Wilks Barnett in Paris, on Aug. 11, 1923. He preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1971. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters; five brothers; two step-children, William Floyd Barnett and Clara Park; one step-grandson, William Larry Barnett; and one step-great-great-granddaughter, Ciara Ann Cox. Survivors include a sister, Ruby Graum and husband, Wesley, of Paris; a step-granddaughter, Carolyn Sinor and family of Flint; and a step-grandson, Jerry Park and family of Glendale, Calif. Tombstone is inscribed, “Daisy E. Barnett.” On the same stone with William Wilks Barnett. Buried near Etta Victoria Reid and Mamie Lee Nash.
