THE PARIS NEWS, Dec. 07, 2006: "BOGATA, James Austin 'Jim' Baker, 76, of the Pine Branch Community died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, in Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, in Bogata Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Randy Lemme and the Rev. John Purviance officiating. Burial follows in Cuthand Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. The family receives friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. He was born Oct. 8, 1930, in Fort Worth, the son of James Robert and Ida Sue Caldwell Baker. He married the former Emma Dean Samthers on June 10, 1950, in Fort Worth. She died July 18, 1995. He was a refrigeration engineer with Earthgrains of Paris for 19 years prior to his retirement. He moved to Bogata from Fort Worth in 1975. He was a former member of Smithfield Masonic Lodge of Fort Worth and for the past 30 years had been a member of Rosalie Masonic Lodge of Bogata. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Bob Baker. He is survived by two sons, Lynn Austin Baker and Rex Allen Baker of Pine Branch; a grandson, Cody Lynn Baker and his wife, Catherine, stationed in the United States Air Force in South Carolina; a great-grandson, Ethan Baker; four sisters, Wynona Engel of Watauga, Dorothy McBryde and her husband, Mac, of Fort Worth, Carolyn Radloff and her husband, Bob, of Bridgeport and Joan Perry and her husband, Ron, of North Richland Hills. If desired, it was the deceased's request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Cuthand Cemetery Association, 268 CR 1506, Bogata, Texas 75417."
