THE PARIS NEWS, Jan. 04, 2008: "Bobbie O. Baker, 75, of Paris died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at Dubuis Hospital in Paris. Starrett Funeral Home conducts graveside rites at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Long Cemetery with the Rev. Duane Hamil and the Rev. Larry Solice officiating. The family receives friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. She was born June 9, 1932, in the Biardstown community, a daughter of Willie Lee 'Son' and Coy Quilla Griffith Shew. She was a retired nurse, and of the Baptist faith. She married Eddie R. Baker on May 27, 1950, in Paris. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son; and Coy and Tooter Shew. She is survived by her husband; a son, Eddie Wayne Baker and wife, Nancy, of Powderly; five sisters, Joyce Pounds and husband, Charles, of Houston, Norma Beard and husband, Fred, of Abilene, Nelda Milling and husband, Bill, of Novice, Peggy Rice and husband, Jack, of Lufkin, and Shelia Todd and husband, Johnny, of Lamar Point; a brother, Danny Shew of Brookston; two grandchildren, Lisa Martin and Chris Baker and wife, Bonnie, all of Powderly; and four great-grandchildren.
