THE PARIS NEWS, Feb. 23, 2007: "CLARKSVILLE, Travis Edgar Ballard, 85, of Blossom died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at his residence. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at Lindeman Chapel with the Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial follows in Savannah Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family receives friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. He was born March 5, 1921, in Avery, to James Monroe and Mary Tennessee Weaver Ballard. He was retired from David Buster Construction Company. He was in the Air Force during World War II. He married Mary Morley on Nov. 8, 1946, in Delano, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary Joe Ballard; three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Mary Morley Ballard of Blossom; sons, Travis Jimmy and wife, Kari Ballard, of Milledgeville, Ga., Tony and wife, Desiree Ballard, of Paris; daughters, Barbara and husband, Jack Thompson, of Rockwall, Doris and husband, Will Dewese, of Mesquite; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Thanks to a special angel, Billie Henry. Pallbearers will be Mark Buster, Steve Sessums, Richard Drake, Chuck James, David 'Huck' Berry and Gary Williams. Honorary pallbearers are David Buster, P. E. 'Sonny' Thompson and Beryl Roberts. If desired, memorials may be made to the Savannah Cemetery."
