THE PARIS NEWS, Feb. 20, 2007: "CLARKSVILLE, Lee Irby, passed away Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at Clarksville Nursing Center. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville. Interment follows at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Texarkana under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family receives friends one hour before services at the church. She was born Jan. 16, 1919, in Sioux Falls, S.D., a daughter of Swedish immigrants, a heritage her children are very proud of, but she lived most of her life in Texas. During World War II, she worked at Cannon Electric in support of the war effort. She worked in the office at Red Cap in Clarksville over 20 years and had more than 1600 hours of volunteer time at Red River General Hospital. She had a gift for sewing and made each family member special quilts and Afghans. With patience and love she did for others. She was always ready to care for and help her grandchildren. All will miss her, a most loved mother, grandmother and friend. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lynn Irby and grandson, Robby Hanson. She is survived by children, Robert Lee Irby and Nancy Taylor; three grandchildren, Ramsey Hanson, Kenneth Taylor and Kevin Taylor; two grandchildren, Alexis Hanson and Jacob Hanson."
