THE PARIS NEWS, 4 Dec 1961: “Mrs. Herbert A. Turner, 230 31st SE, died Monday at 5:25 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Hospital after being ill some time. Funeral services, Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. will be held at Fry and Gibbs chapel by the Rev. John Shuler and the Rev. James E. Jones of First Methodist Church, interment to be made in Evergreen Cemetery. The former Miss Cora Lee Kincaid, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Kincaid, Mrs. Turner was born in Paris, 26 Jun 1901, and had attended Paris schools. Immediate survivors are her husband and an aunt, Mrs. Ed Gabel, Amarillo. Mrs. Turner, member of First Methodist Church, belonged to its Women’s Society of Christian Service, Circle 7, Sarah Anna Guild and New Era Sunday School Class, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Home Gardeners Club, St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary, and the Gray Ladies, serving Lamar Medical Center.”
