THE PARIS NEWS, Wednesday, April 25, 1951, p. 14: "Mrs. A. R. Bills, 2320 E. Price St., died Wednesday at 3 a.m. at the sanitarium of Paris, where she had been a patient for the past 10 days. She was formerly Miss Laura M. Higgs, daughter of W. Albert and Mattie Lee McHam Higgs, and was born in Paris, Jan. 6, 1886. The funeral was set for Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Brown-Roden Funeral Home, Wilburn Whittington, Church of Christ minister having charge. Burial was arranged in Union Grove Cemetery near Reno, pallbearers being Luther Higgs, Charlie Biard, Jim Sanderson, Tom Quinn, Dan A. Bills and Joe Bills. Besides her husband, Mrs. Bills leaves one son, Sterling Bills here; three grandchildren; a brother Cole Higgs, San Angelo, and a sister, Mrs. Mary V. Pyron, Clinton, Okla. She had lived all her life in Lamar County and was a member of Lamar Avenue Church of Christ."
