LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, Thu., May 24, 1984: "Joe Jerome 'Red' Beville of Petty died at his home at 10:35 a.m. Mon., May 21. Services held Wed., at Fry & Gibbs with Rev. Glenn Blackmon. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tue., at the funeral home. Born in Petty, son of Joe Beville & Andy Rutherford Beville. He attended Petty schools & attended Paris Junior College. He was a farmer & rancher & served in the European Theatre during WW II. He was a member of Petty United Methodist Church & VFW Post 7875 in Honey Grove. Surviving are 3 sisters, Mrs. Beatrice McGlasson, of Petty; Mrs. Margaret Kuhlman, of Houston, & Mrs. Marie Bramlett of Petty; 2 brothers, Howard Beville of Paris & J.C. Beville of Clarksville."

Services were scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 23rd, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glenn Blackmon officiating. Burial was to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Mr. Beville was born June 11, 1917, in Petty, a son of Joe Beville and Andy Rutherford Beville. He attended Petty Schools and attended Paris Junior College. He was a farmer and rancher and served in the European Theater during World War II. He was a member of the Petty United Methodist Church and VFW Post 7875 in Honey Grove. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Beatrice McGlasson, of Petty, Mrs. Margaret Kuhlman of Houston and Mrs. Marie Bramlett of Petty; two brothers, Howard Beville of Paris and J.C. On the same stone with Elvis Beville. Also has military tombstone inscribed, "648 Tank Destroyer."
