THE PARIS NEWS, March 8,1999: "Delbert Bryan Brewer, 95, Rt. 2, Detroit, died Thursday, March 4, 1999. Services were at 2 p.m Saturday, March 6, at the Woodland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Ryherd officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery. Mr. Brewer was born Sept. 25 1903, in Lamar County to Thomas Franklin and Sarah Effie Bryan Brewer. After the death of his mother, Delbert made his home with his sister and her husband, Carrie Mae Brewer Haley and Mathew Haley, and their children Amy Haley Goolsby and Claudia Haley Copeland. He owned a Gulf service station in Woodland and also ran a grocery store and was a stockman. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Woodland United Methodist Church. He married Dollie Phillips Stuart Jan. 3, 1963. She died May 19, 1979. He was preceded in death by these brothers and sisters: William Parsey Brewer, Carrie Mae Brewer Haley, John Cleveland Brewer, Thomas Franklin Brewer and Annie Laura Brewer. He was also preceded in death by two nieces, Amy Haley Goolsby and Claudia Haley Copeland. Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, B. Jean Funderburg, Mary Brock, Maurice Goolsby, Jerry Goolsby, and Bessie Hudgens. Pallbearers were Harold Vaughn, Harlin Brown, J. R. Garrett, R. L. Garrett, James Low and Lowell Fleming."  Transcribed by Carol Campbell.
