THE PARIS NEWS, Aug. 10, 2006: “Donnie Faye Brown, 78, of Roxton passed away Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at Paris Regional Medical Center, at which time Bright-Holland Funeral Home received her into its care. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at First Baptist Church in Roxton, with the Rev. Jerry Moore and the Rev. Lance Hammond officiating. Burial follows in Restland Cemetery at Roxton. The family receives friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. She was born Aug. 29, 1927, in Baylor County, the daughter of Albert Houston and Ina Lorene Robertson Moree. She graduated from Seymour High School and later was a secretary in public schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Roxton, where she was active in WMU and taught ladies Sunday school class for many years. She was an active member of Eastern Star and was a member and past president of Roxton Book Club. Her hobbies included needlework and camping. Survivors include her husband, Talma Lee Brown; two sons, Gary Brown and wife, Veronica, of Phoenix, and David Brown and wife, Lynn, of St. Louis; grandchildren, Jennifer Elaine Mixon and husband, Jason, of Winnfield, La., Lindsay Rae Brown of Tuscon, Ariz., Jason Lee Brown of Phoenix, and Emily Brown and Julie Brown, both of St. Louis; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Emilee and Jaci Mixon of Winnfield; brothers, J. R. Moree and wife, Annie, of Witchita Falls and Edward C. Moree of Roxton; and several nieces and nephews.
