THE PARIS NEWS, Dec. 12, 2002: 'Cora Elizabeth Barker, 85, of Bedford, a former longtime resident of Paris, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, in Dallas. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, in Fry-Gibbs Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Henry Bournes officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at the funeral home. She was born Jan. 25, 1917, in Lamar County, a daughter of I. C. and Lillie Ford Dockery. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Bedford. She married T. V. Barker May 21, 1939. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 15, 1984; two brothers, Otis Dockery and Eugene Dockery; a sister, Mamie Moore; and a brother-in-law, John C. Allen. Survivors include sons, Troyal Barker and wife, Charlene, of Blossom, John P. Barker and wife, Lynn, of Bedford, and Ronnie Joe Barker and wife, Sandra, of Waxahachie; daughters, Vickie Denman and husband, Royce, of Huntington, and Ann Stamper and husband, Allen, of Grand Prairie; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Jones of Faught; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Allen of Paris, and Margaret Dockery of New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews. Her grandsons have been named as pallbearers.'
