THE PARIS NEWS, Oct. 07, 2005: 'LINCOLN, Neb., Jack W. Trainer, 71, of Rockport passed away after a year-long battle with ALS --- Lou Gehrig's Disease --- on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, in Lincoln, Neb. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St., with Bob Troyer officiating. No viewing or visitation is scheduled. He was born April 2, 1934, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of George and Mabel Bartram Trainer. He was a 1952 graduate of East High School in Sioux City, Iowa. He retired as Cedar Rapids, Iowa, area manager from Northwestern Bell in 1986 after joining the company in 1953. He loved camping and spending time with family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leora Rae Trainer; parents; and sister, Carolyn M. Shook. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Pat Trainer of Lincoln, Steve and Mary Kay Trainer of Cedar Rapids, Jack E. and Deb Trainer of Eagan, Minn., and Rick Trainer of Poulsbo, Wash.; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jim Greaser of Vinton, Iowa; grandchildren and spouse, Jennifer and Jason Gillman of Lincoln, Brooke Trainer of Lincoln, Jackson Trainer of Cedar Rapids, Michelle Trainer and Jackie Trainer, both of Eagan, and Dan Greaser and Christy Greaser, both of Vinton; great-grandchild, Berkeley Gillman of Omaha; brother and sister-in-law, George P. and Charlotte Trainer of San Diego, Calif.; step-sister, Sandy Schardine of Newport Richey, Fla.; brother-in-law and spouse, Wayne and Peggy Caster of Arthur City; sister-in-law, Beth Sylvester of Scranton, Penn.; and nieces and nephews. If desired, memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.'
