Notes
THE PARIS NEWS, Jan. 02, 2006: "Constance Bushea Baker, 93, of Paris passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at which time Bright-Holland Funeral Home received her into its care. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Meadowbrook Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Fred Fangio officiating. She was born Nov. 11, 1912, the daughter of Ray and Alma Herbrich Bushea in Canton, Ohio. When she was in her teens, her family moved to Miami, Fla., and then to the Florida Keys where her father opened a wholesale grocery business. At that time, the Florida Keys, were very sparsely settled so Ms. Baker and her sister moved to Miami and worked as Mother's Helpers in order to attend high school. She graduated from Ponce de Leon High School in 1931 and began working at the First National Bank of Miami, where she met her husband-to-be, Zinnamon Baker. After the Bakers were married, they moved to Orlando, Fla., and in 1942, Mr. Baker went into the service in World War II. After the war, Mr. Baker worked for a construction company that was providing electrification for many of the western states. The Bakers moved 43 times as the electrical crews moved and lived in Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. Later, the Bakers entered the hearing aid business and lived in Dallas and, finally, Paris. Ms. Baker was active in her church and for many years played the piano for many of the services. She also assisted at the Paris library. She is survived by her sister, Marjorie Bushea Greene; brothers, Robert G. Bushea and Kenneth R. Bushea; one niece and many nephews."
