| Notes THE PARIS NEWS, Nov. 28, 2005: 'COOPER, Virginia Elizabeth Bettes, 85, of Cooper passed away Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at Birchwood Manor Nursing Home in Cooper. Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper with Johnny Witherspoon officiating. Interment follows under the direction of Delta Funeral Home. The family receives friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. She was born April 23, 1920, in Cooper. She was the daughter of Thomas Elmer Kesler and Lura Mae Holdren Kesler. She was a retired beautician, lived in Delta County all her life and was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Edwin 'Snooks' Bettes on Dec. 10, 1939, and he preceded her in death March 5, 1986. Survivors include several nieces, nephews and cousins.' |
