THE PARIS NEWS, Jan. 07, 2005: 'CLARKSVILLE, James Howard Bean, 87, of Lewisville, formerly of Paris, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at Lewisville Medical Center, Lewisville. Graveside services will be held in the afternoon on Saturday, Jan. 8, at Fairview Cemetery in Clarksville. Arrangements are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. He was born Jan. 28, 1917, in Clarksville, the son of Oliver Oscar and Daisy Lee Smith Bean. He served four years in the U.S. Army during World War II as a staff sergeant in the North Africa campaign. He was a long-time member of Ramsuer Baptist Church and was a career employee of the Sherwin-Williams Company in Paris. He was also an alumnus of Paris Junior College. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Billie Jean Maynard Bean; his second wife, Birmah Brothers Bean; a daughter, Amy Jo; a grandson, Michael David Bean; his brother, Carl Edward Bean; and his sisters, Ruth Humphrey and Vergie Bolton. He is survived by his son, Michael Douglas Bean and wife, Janett, of Sumter, S.C.; his daughter, Karen Dianne Barber and husband, Lonnie, of Lewisville; and six grandchildren, Melissa Bean Laudiero, Kristi Bean Verbeck, Matthew D. Bean, Lonnie Barber Jr., Tonya Barber Perkins and Stephanie Barber Fields. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Verna Huneke of Lubbock. If desired, memorials may be made to the Paris Education Foundation.'
