| Notes THE PARIS NEWS, Jun. 16, 2005: "Melba D. Barbee, 71, of Paris died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Services are set for 2 p.m. Friday, June 17, at Lakeway Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Finch officiating. Interment follows at Providence Cemetery under the direction of Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home; however, there will be no graveside service. The family receives friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. She was born April 5, 1934, in Texas, the daughter of W. H. and Dura Wright Garvin. She married Herschel Barbee on Oct. 15, 1994. She is survived by her husband; brother Lloyd Garvin; sister Margaret Sayles; son, Alan Baze; daughters, Dianne Newman and Peggy Baze; grandchildren, Scott Trantham, Haley Trantham, Karrie Hampton and Scheldon Baze; and four great-grandchildren." On the same stone with Herschell Barbee with marriage date - Oct. 15, 1994. |
