THE PARIS NEWS, Jan 20, 2005: “HUGO, Okla., Annie B. Benson, 80, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Hugo, Okla., died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005. Funeral services are set for noon Friday, Jan. 21, at South Central District Building with the Rev. Leon Gaffney officiating. Interment follows in Palestine Cemetery under the direction of Rogan Funeral Home.” Annie B. Benson, age 80 was born August 7, 1924 in Palestine TX, to the union of Jack Jetton and Emma Jetton. To this union was born four children, Annie Jetton, brothers O.C. Jetton (Big Boy), Prince Jetton and Eugene (Hue) Jetton. Both of her parents, grandparents, brothers and step father, Zollie Pace preceded her in death. Annie was educated at Booker T. Washington High School. She was employed for several years at Goodland Home and Grant Independent School District. After years of dedicated service, she retired from Campbell Soup in Paris, TX in 1986. Annie accepted Christ at an early age. Annie united in marriage to James F. Benson, Jr. (who preceded her in death). To this union were born two children, son, Sylvester Benson (wife Pat) of Manhattan, Kansas and daughter, Wilma Daniels (husband, Bobby) of Dallas, TX. Three daughters and son were born to Annie Benson and Wilson A. Harris (Jabo); Wanda Flemons of Kansas City, MO; Emma Carey (husband Johnny) of Kansas City, MO; Alfred Donnie Harris and Hilda Harris of Dallas TX. On January 15, 2005, Annie departed this life at 'The Life Care Center of Grandview". She leaves to cherish her memoriy and clebrate her life a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
