THE PARIS NEWS, Sunday, 2 Dec 1979: "Funeral services for Mrs. Johnnie Taylor were held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Melhodist Church in Lake Creek with the Rev. Paul Jackson and the Rev. Gary Regan officiating. Interment was in Lake Creek Cemetery under the direction of Steele and Thomas Funeral Home. Pallbearers included Kenneth Smith, J. P. Roling, Dee Jackson, LaFray Mitchell, Gaines Price and Hobart Young. Mrs Taylor died Wednesday at the C. C. Young Nursing Home in Dallas."
LAMAR COUNTY ECHO, December 1979: "Mrs. Glee Taylor, 77 formerly of Lake Creek, died Wednesday, November 28, 1979, in C. C. Young Nursing Home in Dallas. Funeral services were held Friday morning in the Methodist Church in Lake Creek, with the Rev. Paul Jackson and the Rev. Gary Regan officiating. Interment was in Lake Creek Cemetery under the direction of Steele and Thomas Funeral Home. Johnnie Taylor was born on November 14, 1902, in Sulphur Bluff, Texas, daughter of John Stevenson and Emily Maxwell Stevenson. She married Glee Taylor in 1921 in Cooper. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Wilma Russell of Houston and Mrs. W. E. Richardson of Mesquite; one sister, Mrs. Beulah McAnear of Spring Valley, California; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Kenneth Smith, J. P. Roling, Dee Jackson, LaFray Mitchell, Gaines Price, and Hobart Young." Transcribed by Mary Tallant.
