THE PARIS NEWS, May 01, 2005: ‘DEPORT, Mary Ann Barnard, 70, of Deport died Friday, April 29, 2005, at her home. Memorial services are set for 8 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at Wood Funeral Home of Deport with the Rev. C. G. Renfro and Thomas Ridge officiating. The family receives friends Sunday one hour prior to the funeral service. She was born on March 1, 1935, in Merritt, the daughter of Jessie David and Weldon Parker Johnson. On June 11, 1954, she married Thomas J. Basinger. He preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 1984. She then married Dan Barnard on July 2, 1988. He died on June 25, 2004. She was retired from Campbell Soup Co., and prior to her illness was working in the home health industry. She is survived by her children, Vickie Neisler and husband, Auddie, of Maxey, David Basinger and wife, Connie, of Deport, and Coralea Coonrod and husband, Donald, of Bonham; step-children, Britt Barnard and wife, Amanda, of Blossom, Shelly Barnard of Quinlan, and Kanda Barnard of Rockwall; three sisters, Betty Adams of Greenville, Glenda Daniel of Merritt and Fran Jackson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nine grandchildren, Andy Neisler and wife, Molly, Jesse Neisler, Matthew Basinger, Christopher Basinger, Jessica Zant and husband, David, Lacie Stidham, Seth Barnard, Ethan Barnard and McKenna Barnard; and one great-granddaughter, Cassie Zant. If desired, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Deport Church of Christ, or a charity of choice.’

Double marker with Thomas Jacob Basinger. According to her daughter, Mary Ann was cremated and her ashes were scattered by both her husbands and on the farm. This is recorded under surname Barnard also.
