THE PARIS NEWS, Nov.17, 2004: 'BOGATA, D. C. Thomas, 78, of Johntown died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, in Red River Healthcare Center in Bogata. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, in First Assembly of God Church in Bogata with the Rev. Randy Lemme officiating. Burial follows in Bogata Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. The family receives friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. He was born March 12, 1926, in Johntown, the son of Dave and Nettie Smith Thomas. He married the former Frances Green on July 12, 1947, in Deport. He worked in the Talco oil fields for a number of years. He was preceded in death by a son, Carl Dean Thomas, in 1953; a brother, George Thomas; and two sisters, Marie Porter and Mary Mauldin. He is survived by his wife, Frances Thomas of Johntown; one son, Larry Thomas of Mount Pleasant; a grandson, Donny Thomas and wife, Paula, of El Prado, N.M.; one great-granddaughter, Miranda Thomas of Reno; and two step-great-grandchildren, Wesley and Taylor Guilliam.'
