THE PARIS NEWS, Aug. 01, 2004, By Charles Richards: 'Double homicide victims had Lamar County ties - A homicide investigation is continuing in Plano into the deaths of Wanda Lee, 65, who was raised in Lamar County, and her son, Blake Alan Baggett, 35. Plano police discovered their bodies Tuesday morning inside their residence. They died of gunshot wounds, authorities said. Police weren't sure how long they had been dead. One of Lee's co-workers called police Tuesday when she failed to show up for work for a second straight day. 'We couldn't get a response when we went out there, so we went inside the residence. That's when we found the two bodies,' Plano police spokesman Carl Duke said. Michael Christopher Pippin, 35, a friend of Baggett's, was taken into custody after a pickup truck that was missing from the residence turned up at Pippin's Seagoville residence. Officers arrested Pippin after he left his residence and got into the vehicle. Lee was born Aug. 4, 1938, in Sumner, seven miles northwest of Paris. Her father, J. B. 'Cootsie' White, ran a grocery and feed store, according to her ex-husband, Bill Baggett of Tool. She had been a member of Sumner Methodist Church. Both she and her son were involved in graphic computer design. A double funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home in Paris, followed by burial at Meadowbrook Gardens.'
