THE PARIS NEWS, June 14, 2004: 'Peggy R. Breland, 76, of Paris, died Saturday, June 12, 2004, at Paris Regional Medical Center at which time Bright-Holland Funeral Home received her into their care. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at College Church of Christ with Bro. Nolan Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. She was born Aug. 25, 1927, in Plainview, the daughter of James Walker and Eula Mae Davis Perkins. She graduated from Plainview High School and worked as a switchboard operator with Southwestern Bell for a number of years. She later worked for Eaton Stationary company and in the cafeteria at Crockett Middle School. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include her husband, Bernard, whom she married on May 4, 1947; one son, Gary Breland and wife, Gail of Paris; two daughters, Anna Lynn Emerson and husband, Joe, of Amarillo, and Shirley Needham and husband, Bobby, of Bay Minette, Ala.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren along with a brother, Darrell Perkins of Lubbock. Casket bearers will be Derek Needham, Clint Needham, Jason Tigart, Jimmy Land, Cody Breland and Travis Brink.'
