Bengert, 41, of Powderly passed away Saturday, July 24, 2004, at Paris Regional Medical Center, at which time Bright-Holland Funeral Home received him into their care. Following cremation, memorial services will be scheduled in Evansville, Ind., and he will be interred next to his father. He was born May 10, 1963, the son of Walter Bengert Jr. and Pansy Ashby Bengert, in Kansas City, Kan. His mother and father preceded him in death. Survivors include his daughter, Amber Gail Bengert of Powderly; an aunt, Jean Bengert of Evansville, Ind.; his mother-in-law, Gail Miller of Powderly, his caregiver, Debbie Bengert of Powderly; a brother-in-law, Mark Miller of Powderly; two close friends, Lee Plouski of Powderly and Shawn McKnight of Powderly; his daughter's half brothers, Richard and Roland Haggard of Powderly; along with many other close friends and family in the amusement business. A Happy Ending (Revised): When the spot on earth is over And the Master says 'time to go The Angels here in heaven Are waiting for your show,' We must go on as He beckons, We must quickly slough and fly For He knows our show is needed For His children in the sky. Yes, there'll be carnivals in heaven, With bright lights and games of fun galore. There will be angels walking down the midway Hearing barkers all the way With God, Himself, the Supervisor, And we Carny folks the crew. There the angels on the 'Jinny' ride Playing music pure and sweet. There'll be popcorn and cotton candy, With just a deep pink, Perhaps a little sweeter Since it's made in heaven don't you think? The 'jump' from each to heaven Will be the grandest one of all, Without a single breakdown, With no truck motor to stall. So let's make the show a good one, While here on earth we dwell, So when we set it up in heaven God will say 'A job done well.'
