THE PARIS NEWS, June 18, 2004: 'Clyde E. Bankhead, 61, of Cunningham passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2004, at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Funeral services have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at Abundant Life Church in Minter with the Rev. Tony Corso officiating. Burial will follow in Restland Cemetery in Cunningham. Bright-Holland Funeral home has charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. He was born Oct. 29, 1942, in Cunningham, to Clyde and Thelma Watson Bankhead. He graduated from Cunningham High School and served four years with the U.S. National Guard. He retired from Babcock & Wilcox after 30 years with the company and was a cattle rancher. He was a member of Abundant Life Church where he had been a board member. He served a number of years on the school board of the Prairiland Consolidated Independent School District. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Lloyd Marshall, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Gerrie, whom he married on Sept. 3, 1965; two sons, Jerrod Bankhead and wife, Susan, of Cunningham and Chance Bankhead of the home; one daughter, Kristi Callihan and husband, Bryan, of Reno; three grandchildren, Kaden and Ashlyn Callihan of Reno and Gage Bankhead of Cunningham; two sisters, Melba Holbert and husband, Buddy, of Lubbock and Elaine Wheeler and husband, Roy, of California; a sister-in-law, Irma Marshall of Fort Worth; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Maureen Richardson of Paris, a brother-in-law, Ron Richardson and wife, Linda, of Mesquite; along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Casket bearers will be Gene Cavender, Billy Ray Oats, Burl Dean Watson, Harold Dean Watson, James Norwood, Pete McKnight, Frankie Norwood and Johnie Musgrove.'
