THE PARIS NEWS, Apr. 25, 2004: 'Mary Ann Black, 77, of Paris died Thursday, April 22, 2004, at Paris Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Monday, April 26, in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Buddy Greer officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the chapel. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements. She was born Aug. 25, 1926, in Bogata, to John William 'Bill' and Ida Lela Self Burnett. She graduated from high school and Paris Junior College. She married Lawrence Black on Jan. 19, 1946, in Fort Worth. She was a bookkeeper for several businesses during her career. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed greatly by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Black of Paris; one daughter, Jo A. Kiesow, and husband, Wayne, of Sun Prairie, Wis.; three brothers, George Burnett and wife, Dess, of Abernathy, James Burnett and wife, Dorothy, of Paris and Thomas Burnett of Blossom; and numerous nieces and nephews.'
