THE PARIS NEWS, Apr. 06, 2004: 'STRASBURG, Va., Alta Elizabeth Beeler, 77, of Strasburg, Va., died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at Winchester Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, at Stover Funeral Home in Strasburg with the Rev. Dan Locke, the Rev. William N. Wade and the Rev. William R. Fitchett officiating. Interment will be in Lebanon Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and will meet there at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. She was born Oct. 5, 1926, in Powderly, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Elizabeth Condor Morrison. She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Fishers Hill, was retired from Aileen, Inc., was a member of the Strasburg Women of the Moose, No. 1319, a volunteer at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital, Woodstock, and a member of the Ladies Guild of the church. Surviving are her husband, Nile W. Beeler; two sons, David Mauck of Topeka, Kan., and Wayne Mauck of Woodstock; three daughters, Freda Palmer, Linda Bott and Mary Mauck, all of Strasburg; three sisters, Mary Flippen and Janet Preston, both of Paris, and Daphane Tackett of Amarillo; a brother, Alvin Morrison of Paris; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Gene Stickley, William Baker, Ronnie Cromer, Robert Hinkins, Benny Beeler and C.W. Mauck. If desired, memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation, Strasburg Volunteer Fire Department or Strasburg Volunteer Rescue Squad.'
