THE PARIS NEWS, Apr. 11, 2004: "Mary L. Templeton, 71, of Paris died Friday, April 9, 2004, at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 12, at Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home Chapel with David Gillean and Bro. Jim Millsap officiating. Interment will follow in Rockford Cemetery under the direction of Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. She was born Mary Lois Watson on Oct. 28, 1932, in Oklahoma, the daughter of Ted and Thelma England Watson. She married Sterling T. Templeton on Dec. 17, 1947, in Paris. She was a homemaker and member of Tudor Street Gospel Mission Church. She was a model Christian mother, the light of her husband's life, and both her and her husband believed in keeping family close together and united. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sew and quilt. She was a mother to all she met, and she always uplifted and made the people around her feel good. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edmond Watson. Survivors include her husband, Sterling, of Paris; two sons, Sterling 'Tom' Templeton Jr. of Irving and Rickey Allen Templeton and wife, Alice, of Grand Prairie; four daughters, Glenda White and husband, Perry, of Irving, Norma Williams and husband, Wesley, of Paris, Zita Patterson and husband, Jerry, of Paris and Jennifer Johnson and husband, Dave, of Paris; three brothers, Gary Watson and wife, Mattie, of Houston, Jessie Watson of Paris and Marvin Watson and wife, Cynthia, of Huffman; two sisters, Virginia Thompson of Paris and Paula Turpin and husband, Ronnie, of Brookston; sister-in-law, Mildred Watson of Houston; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Casey Tointigh, James Grisby, James Williams, Chris Wear, Jason Brackeen, Joseph Brackeen and Larry Hill."

Information from Cynthia Watson, Huffman, TX, cbwwmrw1@nctv.com, 8 Jan 2012: Mary Lois Watson Templeton was the wife of Sterling Templeton.  The daughter of Elbert and Thelma Lee (England) Watson. She was the granddaughter of Jesse Lenord England and Carrie Madlyn Baker England and George William Watson and Fannie Betava Junken Watson.  She was the sister to Country singer Gene Watson. Sisters are Gina Thompson, Paula Turpin.  Brothers the late Edmond Ray Watson, Gene Watson, Jessie Elbert Watson and Marvin Richard Watson.
