THE PARIS NEWS, Apr. 15, 2004: 'Lyda Edwina Denton Brown, 87, of Smithville died Tuesday, April 13, 2004. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 15, in Austin Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Cook-Walden Funeral Home on Lamar Avenue in Austin. Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home has charge of local arrangements. She was born April 28, 1916, in Paris, the daughter of John and Lyda Twiman Denton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jack B. Brown. Survivors include her three sons, Don Shelton and wife, Carol, of Paris, Ken Brown of Smithville and Vern Brown of Burnet; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.'
