THE PARIS NEWS, Mar. 26, 2004: 'CLARKSVILLE, Jackson Charles Beville, 99, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at McKenzie Memorial United Methodist Church in Clarksville. Interment will follow at Forrest Hill Cemetery in Petty under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. He was born Aug. 28, 1904, in Petty, the son of James Joseph and Andy Lottie Rutherford Beville. He attended school at Petty and Paris, finishing in 1924. He farmed and ranched for many years before becoming deputy sheriff in Red River County in the 1940s. He served as Red River County Sheriff from 1953 to 1959 and again from 1960 to 1964. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Howard Stanley Beville, Elvis Newton Beville and Joe Jerome Beville; and two sisters, Beatrice Beville McGlasson and Marie Beville Bramlett. He is survived by his wife of 80 years, Madge Payne Beville of Clarksville; one sister, Margaret Beville Kuhlman of Fredericksburg; two daughters, Madgie Stewart of Longview and Dr. Julia Van Burkleo and husband, Hoyel, of Longview; one son, Charles Beville and wife, Nelda, of Blossom; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; along with several great-nieces and nephews. Named as pallbearers are Willie Pace, Joe Pace, Gene Mabry, Don Mabry, Buddy Langston and Jerry Conway.'
