THE PARIS NEWS, Dec. 09, 2003: 'ARLINGTON, Jean Cotton Barnett, formerly of Paris, went to her heavenly home Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at the Park Springs Bible Church in Arlington. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Paris. She was born April 20, 1930, in Burlington, Vt., to Kenneth G. Cotton and Nellie Louise Taylor. She graduated from Springfield High School, Springfield, Vt., Morse Business College, Hartford, Conn. and the Boston School of Dental Nursing, Boston, Mass. Her love for the Lord led her to read and study her bible faithfully. Also, she followed her Texas Aggie husband in a love for TAMU and the 1943 Kiddie Korps Orange Bowl team along with her friends, Vada and Durwood Chalker. She was a loving wife of 50 years to James C. Barnett of Arlington; devoted mother to her daughters, Elisabeth and Rebecca; cherished Grammy to her seven grandchildren; sister-in-law to the late Jane and Clark Estes; and aunt to Richard Estes, Betty Estes, Robert Estes and John Marshall. If desired, the family requests donations be made to AWANA at Park Springs Bible Church, 5515 Park Springs Blvd., Arlington, Texas 76017.'
