THE PARIS NEWS, Aug. 22, 2002: 'MOUNT VERNON, Everett Ball, 87, of Mount Vernon died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, at his residence. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, in First Baptist Church with the Rev. J. O. Duckworth and the Rev. Cecil McCloud officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Vernon City Cemetery under the direction of Harvey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. He was born on Nov. 24, 1914, in Franklin County to Elizabeth Rogers and C. C. 'Lum' Ball. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Davidson Ball of Mount Vernon; daughters, Virginia Pryor of Mount Vernon and Dorothy Chandler and husband Glenn of Dallas; grandchildren, Lynn and Mike Bates of Irving, Neeley Jordan and Jim Shelton, both of Irving, Chris and Amy Jordan of Irving; their father, Billy Jordan of Mount Vernon and Elaine Pryor of Commerce; great-grandchildren, Myra Hollingsworth, Savannah Hollingsworth, Matthew Bates and Mackinley Pryor. Pallbearers will be Rex Norris, Wayne Norris, Bo Wafford, Dee Waford, Nat Gibbs and Noel Donica.'
