THE PARIS NEWS, Dec. 25, 2002: "VAN ALSTYNE, Jimmy Boyd Burk, 61, of Rowlett died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, in Doctors Healthcare Center in Dallas. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, in Flesher Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne, with Jim Poole officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery in Paris under the direction of Flesher Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Collette McDowell Burk, of Rowlett; three daughters, Angela Reese and Margaret Shaw, both of Rowlett and Leslie Brewer of Garland; his mother, Jessie Burk of Van Alstyne; a sister, Carol Powell of Denison; two brothers, Jerry Burk of Howe and Doyle Burk of Van Alstyne; three grandsons, Jordan, Scott and Brian; and several nieces and nephews."
