THE PARIS NEWS, Sep. 10, 2002: 'BOGOTA, Mary L. Bynum, 70, of Las Vegas, N.V., formerly of Bogata, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at her residence. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, in Cuthand Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Cuthand Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. She was born on Dec. 20, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Leo Raymond Pursel and Mary Isabelle White Pursel. She married D. E. Bynum in April of 1975. He preceded her in death in August of 1977. Survivors include two sons, Butch Martin of Las Vegas and Bobby Martin of Cumby; a stepson, Roger Bynum of Kemp; two daughters, Sally Gronniger of Baldwin City, Kan., and Christine Elder of Greenville; a stepdaughter, Janice Tune of Dallas; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Abbott of Wichita, Kan.'
